100 YEARS OF INDIAN CINEMA – SOUTH CELEBRATE

The centenary of Indian cinema is celebrated by South Indian Film Industry for three days on Sept 1, 2 and 3 at Chennai. The South Indian cinema industry is closing its shutters for one week with effect from August 28.

On Thursday morning the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce President and Centenary Celebration Chairman C Kalyan announced the celebration in the presence of secretary of SIFCC Ravi Kottarkar, KFCC President B Vijayakumar, Sa Ra Govindu, SA Chinne Gowda, Rockline Venkatesh and other members of KFCC.

We give you the highlights of all the speakers at KFCC press briefing:

·         Grand finale on 3rd September will be five hours duration from 6 pm to 11 pm. President of India Pranab Mukerjee will be chief guest. All the South Indian Chief Ministers are taking part in the finale.

·         The theme song on this occasion will be inclusive of all superstars of South Indian cinema.

·         It is from Chennai all the South Indian Cinema Industry took its birth and so it is appropriate to hold the three days event says C Kalyan.

·         The first two days event will be held at Nehru Indoor Stadium and Finale on 3rd September will be held at Nandanam YMCA grounds.

·         For first two days the capacity is 8000 but 6000 invitees will be present. First session on first September after inaugural will be set for Malayalam film industry. It is four hours program. Two hours set for remembering the veterans and in remaining two hours cultural show and 50 persons will be honored.

·         On the same day evening Tamil film industry program will be held in the similar way like how Malayalam film industry kick started the program.

·         On September 2 the morning at Nehru Stadium is set for Kannada film industry and in the evening it will be for Telugu film industry.

·         Grand finale will be held on September 3 – it starts at 6 pm and closes at 11 am.

·         Top Hindi film industry will take part on the final day. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amir Khan and other big wigs will dance with South top stars.

·         SIFCC met the Kannada film industry bigwigs like Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar, Dr Ambarish and others. Dr Ambarish will be participating on all the three days.

·         The media cooperation is very important all of you must support this event added C Kalyan in his address.

·         Ravi Kottarkar in his Kannada address on the proceedings said it is time to remember the builders of our cinema industry.

·         The commercial and parallel cinema are given due importance. Honoring legends is another event. Cinema industry is like ‘Father figure’.

·         We are at lucky stage to see 100 years of Indian cinema. Our past generations and future generations are not that lucky to watch the mega event.

·         There is no politics in this event. No caste, creed or religion – only Art is saluted.

·         Title song for the event will be composed by AR Rehman and Ilayaraja together.

·         The inaugural will be made by union information minister.

·         Whizz Craft is getting this event via satellite. 100 cameras will be pressed in to action. It will be live telecast worldwide.

·         Fifty Stamps of with veteran’s names will be brought out on this occasion. 10 stamps of each cinema industry pillars will be part of centenary. Dr Vishnuvardhana stamp will be released on this occasion.

·         South Indian cinema industry contribution is 68 percent to Indian cinema industry. Bollywood is not alone of Indian cinema industry.

·         We are planning to invite persons like Spielberg, Jackie Chan and others to the South centenary of Indian cinema.

·         According to Rockline Venkatesh there will be no loss of work or earning with declaration of holiday. 80 percent of the cinema industry people will be working for rehearsals.

·         The exhibition of cinema will be as usual in all the South Indian states.

·         It is Purvajanmada Puna to participate in such a glorious event says KFCC President B Vijayakumar.

·         We have consulted all departments for this celebration. It is a ‘Dodda Habba’ says B Vijayakumar.
